Turtle Cake

One (1) German Chocolate cake mixed according to package directions. Bake half of the cake mix in greased 9x13 pan at 350 for 15 minutes.

Melt: 14 oz caramels

1/3 cup butter or margarine

1/2 cup evaporated milk

Pour onto baked cake; sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips, 2 cups broken pecans. Top with other 1/2 of the cake mixture and bake an additional 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

Optional: Serve with whipped topping
